Default Equivalent for 6F18 valve

Is there a British eq to the valve 6F18 at all please if anyone can advise. Example an EF type valve

Hi

According to B B Babani's equivalents manual from 1963 (Line 131) 6F18 is equivalent to W739 and 6EC7. Variable u HF Pentode from 1956.

Sadly, I suspect those equivalents are just as hard to find.

EF89 is supposedly similar but with different pin connections.

You can normally substitute an EF89 unless the socket has been wired strangely. Pin 1 is a duplicate connection for the cathode on the 6F18 and screen on the EF89.

You beat me to it Paul, I was going to say exactly that! Pin 1 on the EF89 is the screen on the 6F18 it is the cathode - Pin 3 on both the 6F18 & EF89 is the cathode

I have a 6F18 if you want it. New in box for cost of postage. I've had it forever so not likely to use it.
