Default 16 way switch No. 1

As part of our project three 16 way push button switches are needed. We decided that the use of these TMC units would do, largely because we had a good few of them and importantly the frames to mount them on. They can be made up into any reasonable number of ways by cutting and combining the mounting frames.

The switches work into the preview matrix to select the video source for monitoring purposes. The matrix is just a big box of relays and 5 output amplifiers. This has to be built as well! The current pal is to make the box using the Imlok frame system. There will be some 32 SO239 co-ax connectors and a load of multicore connectors.

These switches were widely used in the 1960s and are used in other locations in MCR21 so are a suitable "period" item.

The photo shows the 16 way set with sample buttons, yet to sort a full set (48) matching buttons, with just one set of contacts in place.

There were a number of different options on these switches, would be good to find original catalogue.

See www.mcr21.org.uk for more details.

Or youtube for some videos.

regards for the Team and the BTTT
