Clandestine Radio [and just about everything else]
Picked up a 1st Ed HB of Secret Agent's HandBook of Special Devices today. Pub in 2000 by the Public Record Office and introduced by Mark Seaman who it says organised major exhibitions at the Imperial War Musem [1984 and 95] on the "Secret War" theme. It has a very interesting Chapter on Wireless activities, inc the [not very concealable] AR88, Microwave gear on land/in the air and of course the MRC set plus others I don't really know about. These highly collectable "spy sets" have never really interested me very much but the book seemed too interesting to let go. The other sections contain just about everything from a Parachutists Water Suit to the famous [exploding] fake rat! All sections are reprints from the original 1944 and 45 War Office Catalogue's. Makes it sound like shopping at home. Is anyone else familiar with this book I wonder?

I had 2 MCR1's at one point, and eventually gave them away, I wish I hadn't
