Default Ultra Radio Factory

Never knew of the connection between the Ultra Radio Factory and Christie until now.

I was using my PC doing something or other, telly was on the history channel, Murder Maps was on, not really watching it but overheard about Christie (Rillington Place) had at one point worked for a radio factory at Acton, as did one of his victims, being intrigued I did a quick Google, apparently it was the Ultra Electric factory, never knew that until today.

Lawrence.

I worked there briefly in the eighties - it was Dowty by then.

There's a bit about the factory on the Dowty heritage website.
The lovely art deco admin block and frontage was occupied by Littlewoods with Dowty in the factory behind.

I'm not familiar with the area but visiting on Streetview shows the site has been cleared and is now full of modern warehousing and retail units.
