Cirkit 6m/50MHz converter
I have just bought a kit of parts for the Cirkit 6m converter, but there are no instructions or circuit diagram. I believe this is based on the receive side of a transverter designed by G3WPO, published in Ham Radio Today January 1986. I don't know what date the converter itself appeared, but probably a few months later. Has anyone any info on this? It has a 22MHz crystal, so it is the 28MHz output version.
Thanks. |

Re: Cirkit 6m/50MHz converter
Hi Dave,
Have the transverter and photo copy of the article but cannot find the Magazines which were Februrary 1986 for the transverter and March 1986 for the matching PA. The transverter can be made to cover 4m or 6m (depends which coils and crystal etc that you fit). Have a feeling that there may have been a separate article for the converter either in Ham Radio Today or even Cirkits magazine Radio & Electronics World. A few months ago I was thinking of resurecting the project, also have an aerial that I made but do not know where the info for that came from. Will try to scan in article if necessary but it is not a good copy. |

Re: Cirkit 6m/50MHz converter
Hi Fred, That's great! I have the Winter 1988/9 Cirkit catalogue but by this time they had stopped including circuit diagrams in it. Could you send me a scan, or put it up on the forum?
Many thanks. Dave G8HQP |
