Default Dead Philips monitor

I've got an old Philips HD15 monitor. The screen is dead, the low voltages are OK, but there doesn't seem to be anything coming out of the HV transformer. I have only used a multimeter not a scope. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

What is the model number? It can usually be found on a label on the back.

That doesn't seem right either. Maybe you could take a picture of the label?

Hi Marten

thanks for your time, it is appreciated. I've just looked at the label and that is the correct model number. It is a medical monitor but does have ordinary VGA DVI inputs.

Ah, then it is most likely made by FIMI, Sarrono Italy (formerly known as Phonola, later part of Philips, nowadays part of Barco). Very high quality equipment and certainly worthwhile preserving (I own and use one of the very few consumer monitors they ever manufactured). Finding a schematic is probably going to be hard, so repairing must be done by traditional fault finding while reverse engineering or at least recognising the circuitry. This is best started at the power supply. Most likely it should be putting out a +B around 100V and some low tension lines to the signal and control circuitry. The horizontal deflection and HV transformer may be in separate circuits.

Check the power transistor that is driving the primary of the horizontal output transformer. It may be s/c collector-emitter.

If this is a correct ID then there won't be a line output transformer or transistor....

Sorry but an LCD monitor with DVI input is far too modern to be "vintage".
