Default Studio R2R Tapes

A gent who sells regulary at Frome Bootfair had (last week) a large box of used Reel to Reel tapes. They were on huge reels (Tascam I think) and would possiblt be of use if you had a sudio recorder.

I can collect them if anybody is intersted - the whole box was probably no more than £30 - it was about 2ft deep in reels!

If they're NAB, the spools alone would be well worth that price!

Absolutely, NAB reels are the standard professional format and empty reels still fetch high prices. If anything the rise in interest in analogue 'warming' of digital sound in studios has increased interest.

Unfortunately the tape loaded on them may be duff. Professional tape formulations (particularly Ampex) have been disproportionately affected by sticky shed. European and Japanese formulations are less affected.
