Radio museum in Oberhausen
Hi Gents, I've just returned from a trip to Germany where I visited the Sterkrader radio museum. Its run by Friedhelm Schaik, who is in his 80's and speaks very little English.
It is a very large garden room with a vast collection of sets of mainly German origin going back to the 20's as well as tape recorders, a few 'grams and novelties as well as valves and test equipment. Most have been repaired/ restored and are run on a pantry Tx as the MW QRM is pretty bad locally. There are a surprising range of cabinet designs and styles. www.sterkrader-radio-museum.de Ed |

PS, if you visit the site you will see a nice piece of test equipment that demonstrates and tests a variety of magic eyes. He apparently has a good stock of various sorts.
