Default Resumption of TV broacasting in 1946

This is slightly off topic, but I wonder if anyone can tell me the true story of what happened when the BBC resumed broadcasting in 1946.

I have heard several versions, including that the announcer said "pardon the interruption", and "we now resume our broadcasting", and that the Mickey Mouse cartoon that was being broadcast when transmisson was stopped in 1939 was the first postwar program.

What is the truth?

Hello Steve,
I believe Jasmin Bligh rolled up in a car on the terrace of Alexandra Palace, got out and walked to the camera and said 'Hello everyone do you remember me Jasmine Bligh. Its been almost seven years since the television service was shut down and now we would like to continue where we left off '
The Mickey mouse cartoon was then run exactly where it was cut off on December 1st 1939. Its only from memory of the history Steve but I think its about right. I have a film of it somewhere. Regards John.

Are you sure the Mickey Mouse cartoon really was cut off?

I thought that the site referenced above by testcardb included the PasB (programmes as broadcast) showing that the service was in fact closed down some time after the showing of Mickey Mouse. Unfortunately, I can't find it there, so I attach a copy for information.
