Default R1147B WW2 Seafire Receiver

Hi All

Picked up one of these recently, I have a manual for it.

Does anyone have any experience of these receivers?

Cheers

James

Hello James

Wonder if you could jog our memory with a picture?
It may have been marketed under a different name, perhaps for a different service.

Regards
Pete

Hi Pete

Pic attached and suitable link here:

http://www.qsl.net/wd8das/spitfire.html

I downloaded the manual from VMARS. I'd like to find the remaining parts of the system too but these aren't that necessary for its operation I don't believe.

I don't know much more than this, it's not for voice I don't suppose, it's for finding your way home!

The one I have is effectively new - I don't think that it was ever fitted and the last time it was powered may be when it was tested at the factory!

Cheers
James

Hi James, I believe Seafire was a ship-bourn missile system.

Seafire was the carrier launched version of the spitfire for Fleet Air Arm use.

Hi All

Just got the beast - in lovely condition even given its age, can't ever have been installed - much smaller than I imagined too!
