Smiths Sectric
Hi there
I just picked this up at a weekend market and am wondering just what it's function is? It has the three apertures on the dial which look as though they could be for a timing switch or could it be an alarm (or both). Looking at the back it has a lead going in for mains power and another coming out saying "output 300 watt max" Would this output power have been to a switch for something else, or perhaps to a slave clock ? I would like to restore it but first would like to know what it's intended function was, any help establishing that much appreciated. Thanks Phil (newbie) Last edited by AC/HL; 27th Jun 2016 at 11:17 pm. Reason: Images uploaded |

Re: Smiths Sectric
Hi Phil, not too much to go wrong with these. The output would switch typically, a light but could also operate a low power kettle.

Re: Smiths Sectric
It's purely a timer. There should be a grommet on the back cover where the mains lead - it's important this should be fitted, plus the lead itself could need replacing for safety.
