Default Where to obtain speaker cloth?

As the title said I am looking for a rather large piece of speaker cloth , I was hoping to get some from the NVCF in Warwick ,but no luck. Mick.

How large?

Have you tried Sid Chaplin (or more accurately his son)?

https://www.retrospecialist.co.uk/

They do supply straight off the roll.

Their biggest size seems to be 12x18 inches in a limited range. I also need some about 14x23 inches in a white/oatmeal pattern for a Wharfedale Glendale - not seen any in these lighter colours. Any ideas for a source?

How about https://www.nexxia.co.uk/product/buy...speaker-fabric

Or

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Akustikstof...SMGRMPEVMHF0AV

Just using Google. First two hits.

Thanks Craig, looks useful. I don't know why, but I'd not been able to find this - mind you, quite a time since I last tried!

Clearly there are some specialist speaker fabric suppliers but just googling "buy white oatmeal fabric" brings up possibilities. Local markets [like the famous one at Bury for example] usually have one fabric stall at least and shops that make up curtains may help! The current fashion for plain eco materials like oat meal should be an advantage as well. In the previous [70's] eco era it was worth my while to have plain calico posted to me in south Manchester, for curtains etc, from a little place in the East End. You could have the natural look or die it to match carpets. That was just a shortage of cash situation really but we were trendy without knowing it!

I get sent catalogues from CED in america, not sure what the carriage charges etc would be on cloth. They seem to specialise in 50s/60s styles as found on guitar combos and suchlike.

What sort of size do you need ? I don't fancy unwarping all my pieces of cloth photographing them all, wrapping them all up again, then finding you need 1+ metre square pieces.

There was a guy selling speaker cloth on a stall at the Dunstable Downs Rally, did anyone get his name/contact details?

I bought a square from this gentleman at Dunstable Downs, 23" x 23" and I'm sure larger sizes were available. Not really an Oatmeal pattern, but a nice beige/gold woven chequerboard pattern (approx 5mm squares), also available in a red/black weave and I seem to remember another pattern in a greeney/cream.

He was located at the far left hand isle as you approach from the car park, and was also selling dial bulbs paired in neat bags, if that helps. Not sure it does, really....

(My Wartime Civillian set seems to be sporting an offcut of brown cardigan as a speaker cloth. I think this will look better).

Hi Mick, I have these three pieces A is 25.5" wide in one place please see picture. I think the photos are a good lightness to the colour. B is plain oatmeal colour. C is more a flock finish and is difficult to make out what colour it really is, a sort of golden green colour. I may be able to find some more suitable sized pieces, I will look tomorrow. I have many other pieces for normal sized radios. Some are good matches for Philips.

Cheers, John.
