Amstrad RP10/D Platter Removal
My vintage record player an Amstrad model RP10/D turn-table is sticking and/or slow (not the 33 or 45 RPM required). I should like to access the works under the platter to see if new parts required.
However, I'm unsure if the platter is removable. There is a 'C' clip on the spindle which removes easily but the platter seems reluctant to budge when force applied by fingers to opposite sides of the platter to lift it. Sticking/slow turn-tables is not a new issue but my experience is minimal and I should wish to avoid excessive force. Some practical advice and knowledge on the way forward would be gratefully received. Also if a new rubber belt is required, are these available online ? |

Re: Amstrad RP10/D Platter Removal
This is the so-called "Disco" flashing light record player from 1980 and the turntable in this is very flismy. It may be a variant of a BSR deck. Is the platter made of plastic? Use some WD40 on the spindle area only and let it penetrate.

Welcome - I'm not certain but I think that's a badge engineered BSR deck. Hopefully someone on the forum will know which one - then a belt should be easy to come by. Try putting a bit of upward pressure on the platter and giving the spindle a sharp tap at the same time.
And a photo would help with identification.
