Sony 1330 TV
I have a little Sony 1330 tv which has a fault. There's a dark shade appeared on the left hand side of the screen. Is this a tube fault or a capacitor.

Re: Sony 1330 tv
Not the best picture but it's possibly ripple on the RGB feed to the output stage. I can't recall the component number but it's likely to be mounted on the crt base, it will be the only cap rated at 200v or thereabouts. Luckily your crt seems to be of good emission. Forget what you may have been told look for swollen caps, these sets go back to 72/73 ish. I worked for Sony then and we used these as loan sets, they ran for ever.
