Still on the look-out for a Manual. Yep, there are a few pdf downloads supposedly free on the internet, but they are tied into App downloads at a cost.
A scanned pdf or printed off paper copy would be ideal. I'll easy pay for postage & stationary costs.

There is a site called the "Boat Anchor Manual Archive" which may be able to help.
http://bama.edebris.com/manuals/philips/
although a quick look shows only GM6005, GM6012...
sorry

Thanks David, but I'd already seen that info. Different VVM altogether. They were never very popular in the UK due to a time-delayed sensitivity & a regular need to zero. But once warmed up & zeroed, they are jolly accurate on DC & AC Volts, and ohms ranges. I had one a few years back & changed it's quirky little Philips continental mains socket to a permanent UK mains lead. Now I've acquired another to play with. OK so far, calibration-wise. Would still like to acquire the wee 8 page Handbook/Manual.

Hello Darren,
I hope the box arrived safely today. I tried to download a supposedly free copy, but it was a Djvu file or something. Then I was prompted to acquire a pdf conversion program, but couldn't download. A lot of fannying about for nothing.
I'll check back, several years, and see who bought the first Philips I had. That one, by the way, came in jolly close to an HP True RMS VVM I'd borrowed at the time. Maybe that guy has since acquired a handbook.
Surely, someone in the electronics fraternity must have a handbook or pdf copy.

Regards, David

Hi David,

Ah I didn't make the connection it was you! Yes all arrived fine thank you I sent you a message via eBay earlier.

I know what to do with files of that extension, let me have a scout around google now, I'll come back to you if I have any success.

Many thanks,

Darren.

No joy i'm afraid, every version I downloaded even if it was marked as GB was in dutch, I have found a text version that theoretically could be (roughly) translated by google, but there wouldn't be any illustration present so the text content wouldn't marry up.

There must be one out there somewhere...

Well, I guess I'm out of the loop now, GM6000-wise. Having sold one to David Pannell back in 2010, and another to Darren earlier this week. Both Forum guys. So I don't have one anymore. But any further advice will no doubt be welcome by those guys.

Regards, David

Yes it looks as though i've taken one half of the baton on the quest for the allusive english manual now, I will probably have a go at trying to recreate an english version if there's enough interest...
