Default Toshiba KT-1100 cassette player

Hi everyone, does anybody know anything at all about this Toshiba Walkman type unit, its model is KT-1100, there is absolutely nothing about this on Google, no images nothing.
It weighs in at about 2lb and must hsve been expensive in it day, far too heavy to be a personal walkman unit.
I picked this up for £3.00, any help appreciated.

My Crown Memocorder dictation cassette recorder took full size cassettes and looked a little like yours, but yours is better and does certainly ooze quality. I also could find no documentation for the Crown.

I agree with others, it's a voice recorder. A professional machine and good quality, so £3 well spent. It may need new belts by now, but the cheap belt selections sold by Chinese eBay sellers should do the job.

It may have been intended for use in broadcast radio news to record interviews, but the BBC never used cassette technology as far as I know, going straight from Uher Reports to Minidisc.

The Sony WM-D6C gave good service at Transcription and elsewhere in the BBC.

Thanks for the very interesting insight Paul, any sort of information on this is much appreciated, there is absolutely nothing about this on Google or the internet in general.
Thanks

Thanks for your input Ted, I've seen portable small dictation machines that take micro cassettes but this Sharp is top notch, very heavy and in superb condition but thats it, no info, schematics or instruction manual available anywhere.
Thank you bud.
