B9A valve base footprint?
Hi!
Has any Member made a B9A valve base footprint to use in Design Spark, Sprint Layout, Altium etc., etc., and can tell me suitable pad sizes please? Am I correct in using 36 degrees for the angle between adjacent pins with pin 5 in the vertical plane? I am using a "stand–off" type valveholder on the design so there's a tolerance, ±1 mm or so on the p.c.d. Chris Williams

Re: B9A valve base footprint?
I take it that you are talking about a PCB mounted base? If so it depends on the particular base you are thinking of using.
FWIW the B9A footprint in KiCAD is pins on a PCD of 11.76mm, pad diameter 2mm and a 1mm hole. Craig |

Tried to upload the KiCad model, but the upload manager can't cope with a .mod file extension!

Re: B9A valve base footprint?
Looks a bit like the old confusion between "valve base" and "valve holder". By valve base I think one generally means the base that is part of the valve. Valve holder being the holder that sits in the chassis or on the PCB or whatever.

Re: B9A valve base footprint?
Hi.
I did one in Sprint to suit Belton PCB sockets as follows: 21mm PCD Pads 4mm dia with 1.2mm holes. 36 degrees indexing. Hope that helps!

Afternoon Howard!
Me thinks that should meet my needs nicely – Cheers Howard! Chris Williams
