I really like that clock, especially the uplighter idea 💡 Very nice.

Also, has anyone noticed that the 'real-time' clock on this website is still on BST? All posted messages are logged at one hour later than they should be, if you see what I mean.

Someone forgot to put the clock back last Sunday!

Well someone’s awake early; the clock at the bottom of the page is now correct and all times are shown in GMT.

You’re right, LL, these clocks are attractive in a 1930s Bakelite sort of way, and are eminently useable today. However don’t believe Ferranti’s advertising hype about “exact time from the mains” - as has been extensively discussed elsewhere on this Forum, the UK mains frequency is nominally accurate at 50Hz, but no attempt is made to catch up if mains-derived synchronous time departs from real time.

My Ferranti model 7 is currently running about 25 seconds fast, and this changes all the time. Consequently the seconds hand is nice to have, but not to be taken seriously!

But the on-screen clock says that all times shown are GMT+1.

It's an hour fast, surely.

Or am I missing something/going mad?

No, but I suspect a setting on your PC is amiss

Perhaps your computer’s still on Blackburn Standard Time

Go to "User CP", then "Edit Options". Second from bottom is "Date & Time Options", where you can select your time zone and automatic or manual Daylight Saving Time.

Unfortunately it doesn't seem to support VCR mode, only AM/PM

I think I noticed an anomaly too, but put it down to update delays somewhere in the Ether. Now back on Goa Maybe Time (I wish!)

Thankyou, all, for the replies.

Genius Julie! You were spot on! Auto recognition of DST wasn't selected.

It is now!

Also, Julie, how thoughtful and clever of you to provide a link that took me straight to the relevant section.

I'm not terribly computer savvy, indeed, I don't even have one! Just my smartphone (which, if anyone's interested is a Microsoft Lumia 550 on Windows 10 - whatever that means ) I suppose it is a computer, really - sort of!

Anyway, I've learned something new today, and that's always a bonus.
