25k Wirewound pot for CT160 Grid Volts fix
Hi folks,
Can anyone help out with a source of wirewound pots? I'm in the process of sorting my CT160 and the 'Phelan Phix' (see recent thread on this forum) seems to be the order of the day. I need a 20k to 25k wirewound pot with a minimum rotation of 270 degrees to replace the 'smoked' Grid Volts pot in the instrument. If anyone has one of these in the spares box, or knows where I can go to source one, I'd be very pleased to hear from you. Thanks and best regards Colin |

Thanks Graham,
I know about the pot and its unique properties and I followed Mike's repair with interest. I needed a pot to modify in the same way Mike did so I can replace the original in mine. Cheers Colin |

Colin.
I should have read your post properly before replying. Farnell stock a good range of wirewound pots in the values you specify. I prefer the Colvern types myself, but don't know how easy or difficult they are to modify. www.farnell.co.uk Graham. |

Re: 25k Wirewound pot for CT160 Grid Volts fix
Just to finish off this thread. I sourced a new Colvern 25k pot from Farnell (thanks for pointing me in their direction Graham) and have now completed the repair. The CT160 is working fine and well within calibration limits. I'd also like to thank Mike for his help and advice.
I've posted a few pics of the repair for those of you who may be interested. Regards Colin |
