BVWS capacitor shop online anytime soon?
Good evening,
Just posted an order for a couple of electrolytics for a DAC10 to the BVWS capacitor shop. I was wandering if it would make life easier and the service a little quicker to add the service online and using something like Paypal for the transaction rather than needing to go to the bank with lots of cheques. I think quite a few people have Paypal accounts and with a unique BVWS number it could be set up fairly easily. Just a thought. Christopher Capener

Re: BVWS capacitor shop online anytime soon?
I suppose it depends on how many orders a month BVWS receive, if only half a dozen a month the system is probably OK.
Did you ask when you sent your order? Frank |

This has been discussed many times before as an example see this thread from 2012 https://www.vintage-radio.net/forum/...ad.php?t=79329
As all the BVWS committee members have to give up their own time to do these things on top of all there other commitments to the BVWS that doesn't surprise me. Cheers Mike T

I thought I read somewhere that they were going to have an eBay shop, or did I imagine that?

Re: BVWS capacitor shop online anytime soon?
An online store will be happening, it's just down to when I have the time to do it, along with other committee members organising things like a PayPal account and postage costs.
We would charge the non-member prices and ask if people are members when they order. If they say they are we would check the membership system and refund the difference. The eBay shop was mentioned and I believe some eBay requirements caused issues so it's taken a back seat. |

Re: BVWS capacitor shop online anytime soon?
I would like to think everyone knows just how much of their own leisure time BVWS committee members (including Paul) spend on BVWS business every year and I for one as an "armchair member" would like to thank these members for all the efforts on our behalf.
My only real contribution is the B&B at RWB events and that's enough for me! Thanks Guys Cheers Mike T
