Default Ekco U319 FM fading.

This radio was in very poor condition, not wanting to throw it in the bin set about repairing it after all it is our history or will be when we have all gone.
It was driving me up the wall after all necessary caps and some out of spec resistors had been replaced all worked reasonable, after a while FM would fade and then come back all voltages seemed OK no fluctuation, then I noticed the heaters on the UCC85 & UABC80 looked a little dim (or was I imagining it) the radio had a slight smell of singed paper but could not locate it, it was then looking at the circuit I noticed a Hunts decoupling the heaters, where was it hiding in the FM tuner can of course, removing the whole unit and opening up there she was snugly smouldering away, replaced with new 0.01uf cap no further problems, now to repair broken bakelite case with fibre glass resin and a quick spray should be all set up for the future.
