Default Akai M-7 reel to reel

I now have two of these machines both have the same fault, the bottom amp does not work, no sound output and the meter dos not moveAny ideas?

just for interest, one came from Ebay today, another excellent packing job, the recorder was packed in 2 small bits of bubble wrap, not covering the whole machine, the box was 1.12 times too big, guess what happened

Where do these people get their packing ideas from

The machine suffered a serious dent to the main recorder deck, damaged wooden case, smashed PCB's along with damaged bakelite connectors, taken 3 hours to get it back to what it was only to find the bottom amp dead
