Default David G4EBT Birthday.

Hi,

I'm unable to post my current activities because they are no longer radio related but I'm delighted to post birthday greetings and best wishes to our very good friend David on his 80th.

Have an absolutely wonderful birthday David.

Col & Bron.

Thanks for your kind Birthday wishes Colin - a nice way for me to start my day!

Just about to set off for home from Gloucester, having spent a week down in the Cotswolds, Devon & Cornwall. I'll be spending my day driving, (shared with my wife), then lawn mowing and cleaning the car. Those might sound like mundane everyday unexciting activities for a Birthday, but as fellow octogenarians will agree, to still be able to do these things, having your wits about you and still interested in and able to pursue hobby activities is a joy.

I've had a very good shake of the dice in the 'lottery of life' and at my age, there's no such thing as 'having a bad day'. Some days are better than others, but for me, every day is a good day while I'm still around!

Best wishes from me. Hope you have a brilliant day if that is possible driving in all that traffic, cutting the grass, washing the car. I bet your looking forwards to getting the soldering iron switched on again.

Have a good one!

I got laid off onto part-time working just a fortnight before my 65th and it's amazing how people find things for me to do on my spare days! By extrapolation, full 'retirement' must keep you very busy.

Have a good one!

Good to know there's someone a year older than me! I thought I was the last...
Have a great birthday, David. I wish you all that you wish for yourself. Without intending to make you blush, you are a source of inspiration to this forum and to all who come in contact with you. Your unfailing gentle humour, common sense, intelligence and goodheartedness are a rarity in today's world.
Live long and prosper, as someone once said.

All the very best
Tony

Hi David,
That sounds like an excellent philosophy on life! I'll try and keep that in mind as I get older and moan about having to cut the grass!
All the best for a great birthday,
Cheers

Happy birthday David! The sun is shining here for you and I hope it is in Cottingham too.

I still admire all the treasures I have had from you on a daily basis: the lovely little electric clock, your mystery wooden cube and the Weller TCP iron of course.

Looking forward to many more of your fascinating contributions to the forum over the next year,

Nick.

Happy birthday David! I couldn't agree more with your comments. I'm a mere baby compared to you (66) but I also enjoy lawn mowing and cleaning the car plus long walks. I also 'brisk-walk' a couple of miles every day and do simple exercises to try and keep as healthy as possible. I've not retired yet.....just not ready. Keeping the brain and body active is one of the key elements of enjoying (I won't say old age....I hate that term) later life!

Enjoy!!

A very happy 80th to you David.

Do you still have a working calendar? Mine developed an obscure fault a few years ago in that it started to run at double speed. That fault really does slow down progress on the ‘round tuit’ queue!

Long may your construction projects continue to set an example for us all.

Martin
