Default Capacitor date code?

Evening
I’m throwing this open to ideas...
I have just bought an old road lamp which was NOS, I believe it to be from the late 80s to early 90s.
The electrolytic capacitor on the lamp flasher circuit has the value and voltage written as usual, and then has 1243 on the other side.
Now if the lamp was newer I would say it means week 43 in 2012, but the lamp predates this?
It’s all original and no parts have been replaced.
Any thoughts please?
Thanks
Rob

Either week 12 of 1943 or the other way around ;-)

The coding depends on the brand and even the era and series. Also it could be the series or a batch number instead of a date code. What brand is it and what's the other printing on it? Maybe a picture will help.

I would have a good look over the plastic mouldings as these often have date codes on them.

Thanks for your thoughts gents.
It is a bit of a mystery really, sadly the date code ring is there but has not been stamped!

Date code ring?

Also, other components may also sport date codes.

A few pictures may still help, or if you can't take pictures the brand name, other printing on the capacitor might help.

What I have seen is a little clock face on the inside of plastic parts with some kind of mark made to indicate a date.
Transistors sometimes have date codes too.
Have a look at all the plastic parts including the bulb holder.
