Sam's Photofacts books
A quick search of the forum didn't show that this one has already been mentioned (or my search foo has taken a New Years break) but there are quite a few Sam's Photofacts books on the American Radio History site
https://www.americanradiohistory.com...shelf_Sams.htm There's a power supply book that has an interesting valve based variable supply in it and also this one https://www.americanradiohistory.com...-DC-6-1958.pdf on dial stringing arrangements. It is for US manufactured sets and includes Hallicrafters and Collins sets which should be useful (I don't believe this clashes with any of Paul's data sets, but MOD's please delete if it does). |

Re: Sam's Photofacts books
The SAMs Photofacts series included a long sub-series of books containing service information for virtually every CB radio produced for the US market. I'd love to see those books online some day.

Re: Sam's Photofacts books
Hi,
I was lucky enough to pick up a copy of Sams 1948 book Post War Communications Receivers including Aviation and Marine at a car boot sale. A bit of a narrow time window, but a great read just the same. Kind regards Dave |

Re: Sam's Photofacts books
This is an interesting thread. The Sam's CB series seems to have run to a minimum of just under 300 volumes. See: https://theschematicman.com/cb-index.htm
The 1948 book Sams "Post War Communications Receivers including Aviation and Marine", also included "CR1" on the front cove. There was a second volume, ie Sams "Communication Receiver Manual, including special purpose receivers CR2", copyright 1952 73 John |

Re: Sam's Photofacts books
That's a very useful index, thank you.
The paper versions of Sams Photofacts books seem to hold their price quite well, so I think it would be impossible for any one individual to acquire them all now. If SAMs are still on the go then it's unlikely that they will let the whole collection appear online as 'abandonware' any time soon. |
