Default GPO 746, problem via Splitter.

Hello,

I bought a refurbished red GPO 746 and it works perfect in the master socket.

I added a splitter so we can also have cordless handset in another room but the problem is both work well when only one 'phone is plugged in. When both are plugged in the line is constantly busy and when you lift the handset you hear the message "please replace the handset".

It's the same when you press green on the cordless for a line out.

Any help would be great as we love the 746 but need the cordless for the 'select option 1.2.3.' numbers we ring.

Many thanks,
Dave.

Hi,
If the line cord on your cordless phone is removable at the base unit end is it the orignal?
I ask this because there are (at least) two different types of line cord and if you are using the incorrect type you may experience the symptoms that you have described.

Other causes my be due to a faulty, or oddly wired, socket splitter.

Regards
Andrew
