Default Re: Closure of 405 line service

I always thought Burnhope ch8 closed on Wednesday 3rd January? Certainly Neville Wanless reported the closure of what he called, "An old friend" during a Lookaround feature before The Champions on Thursday 4th. Perhaps it switched off earlier that day. I remember Pontop Pike still transmitting a day after Burnhope closed. It was a long time ago so you're probably right.

I don't remember Pontop still being on, but then, I wasn't watching for it.
I had obtained permission to rescue the converter from Burnhope after shutdown, and was at the site on my birthday (4th) in order to assess the transport arrangements.
The station was still radiating on that day.
