Default BVWS North West Swap Meet

The time has come once again to remind everyone of this meet.

10th April 2011 at Golborne Parkside, directions can be found here

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&...-8&sa=N&tab=wl

doors open at 10am, Light refreshments available, if the trolley dollies are amenable maybe a bacon butty!

There will be a 405 line TV display many tables with parts and radios/TV for sale, and hopefully the bring and buy table courtesy of Mr Moll.

Kind regards Mark

Hi All,

The BVWS table will also be there selling all the usual goodies as well as the full stock of capacitors.

We will also be bringing up a selection of items/radios etc. from the BVWS store for sale.

Bringing a TV and two reel to reel's for the FCS to other members.

The last event was an excellent day, and this one promises to be even better.

Mike...

I don't know about "Mr" Moll, but I certainly hope to provide the usual bring & buy service (either 10% to BVWTM or even better straight donations).

Unfortunately can't make this one [Dave and Co] due to south coast committments but it's always good to attend the NW events. I hope there is a good turn out as the new venue seeemed very promising. There's not much to be done about the pesky sports activities as it is a Rugby Club but the beer should be good-meant to sample it this time. Will make sure I'm around in November as I'm always concious of the effort put in by others who travel some distance. Especially Mike and his excellent displays. Dave W

Hi Gents, it doesn't look as if I will make this one as it is close to son's wedding, and we may be having a stag do on the top of Scafell pike!
Probably see you all in November.

Hi,

I'll also be there and am collecting a basket case Bush PB53 woody radio kindly being given to me by a forum member so hopefully this will turn into another major restoration in due course.

I'll wear a name badge (Col "Retired") so please don't be afraid to introduce yourselves to me as I don't bite and would like to put faces to names.

The last Golborne meeting was the first meeting I've ever attended and I enjoyed it.

Kind regards, col.

Hi!
Honestly - you did this to me last time - I'm away again so no chance of meeting up (or offloading so much junk - er, intersting and valuable items).
Perhaps you can let me know when the next one is so I can book a holiday again?
Have a good one, anyway.

Just a quick bump for this

There are a couple of tables left if anyone wishes to take one, contact by pm or email please!

Mike Barker and the BVWS team are attending, I am told with a van load of goodies. But Mike declined to say what as it was a surprise!.

Confirmation that the 405 line TV display will be there.

The BVWS banner will hopefully be on the fence to allow for easier identification of the location. The google maps is in an earlier post.

So hopefully I shall see some of you there this coming Sunday, I shall be the one like a chicken without a head!

Oh yes still bringing the Ecko for John and some RTV servicing books for the bring and Buy to keep Mr Moll happy in his work, AND collecting something for Cre8anet.

cheers Mark

Hi All,

Also bringing a Ferguson TV for Steve Kendal and two R2R tape recorders for Steve Pendlebury.

Picked up a load of stuff on the way up as well, so we will have a good couple of tables full of stuff, plus quite a few communications receivers including several 1155's, RA17, Eddystone etc.

See you all there,

Mike...

My car is now loaded up with a selection of items (telephones and others) for the B&B, along with several boxes of various "Practical" magazines. If someone feels like making a modest donation to the BVWTVM, I would be very happy for the mags to go home in their car rather than mine!

I look forward to seeing you all there tomorrow.

Thanks once again to Mark and all helpers for an excellent swapmeet. A pity the attendance wasn't better, but lots of quality stuff available as usual.

Thanks and see you in November.

Some items were left on the bring & buy stall at the end of the event. If anyone wishes to retrieve them somehow, please contact me (as they are currently in my store) - otherwise they will be recycled for museum funds at future events.

For the future, please may I reiterate that it is the responsibility of those who bring items for the B&B (even if they are donations) to retrieve them (or make other suitable arrangements) before leaving the event, as my car ended up even fuller than I had intended on the way home.
