Italian Rotary Telephone.
Hi
I'm looking for advice with rewiring an old phone to be usable again. the majority of guides I have found have been with different labelling etc. and as I am new to this (doing this as a project to learn more) I'm struggling. I'll include pictures but was wondering if anyone has any experience with this sort of thing? Thanks in advance |

Hello and welcome to the forums.
Do you have a make and model number for the phone? Is there a circuit diagram inside the case?

Hi Trombone,
as Graham advises, the make and full model number could help. However, also same additionally applies for some decent external photos. Regards - Mike Contursi Terme, south of Salerno |

Hi and welcome to the forum, have you checked here? If you have had no sucess as a result are you able to identify the 'A' and 'B' wires of the line cord?, if so you may just be able to connect these to the corresponding exchange line (using a suitable connector of course) and the phone may work as a "two - wire" device.
A few more pictures with close ups of the terminal designations on the board may help us in assisting you further too. Regards Andrew |

Re: Italian Rotary Telephone.
Not easy to give an answer, but pictures of the other side of the circuit board may be whats needed, an explanation of where the cords ends are even a good idea.
My guess is the 4 white cords ar going to the rotary dial, The 4 wires one one side are to the transmitter (Microphone) and Receiver (T?) a and b will normally be the line wires in a 2 wire system, this is commonly used in non UK systems. |
