Bridge rectifier
This isn't for a piece of domestic equipment so I hope it is OK to post here. An overhead projector from work stopped working. The problem seems to be the bridge rectifier that supplies the low voltage fan motor as it is showing signs of overheating. I have applied 12v to its outputs and the fan runs so I assume it is the rectifier itself that has shorted rather than the motor.
The rectifier is WO1M but I can only see WO1Gs on the internet. Is there any difference indicated by the "G" rather than "M"? I had thought that more or less anything would do in the situation but confirmation would be appreciated. Thanks Paul |

Re: Bridge rectifier
From the datasheets I can find online, they're pretty much identical in terms of electrical characteristics, but the G version seems to handle slightly higher surge and reverse currents.

Re: Bridge rectifier
Thanks Russell - that is what I suspected.
