Few ( or more years ago ) I and other ex PO telcomms blokes had a discussion on jelly filld crimps exposed to weather. The older maintenance blokes recounted tales of HR,on the outside. The crimps stopped any joint problems, but on the wire/crimp junction, corrosion set in . I'd not seen this being an old external bloke in Graham's era, where it was either DW from the DP to house, or open wire to the house, with insulators 16 joining the open wire to leader ( wirlead n ) to the old protector. I believe from memory that in even older days that the leadin was a lead covered cable
