Re: Sony BVM 2010P - Operational hours
Sounds like you’re describing a dry solder joint which gets better (more conductive) as the pc board and the components on it warm up and expand. Physically moving the board around when it is cold may also make a poor solder joint appear to get better.
Why not allow the monitor to get cold, switch it on and pull the drawer out just enough to still allow the fault to be seen, then poke around it with an insulated ‘prod’ of some sort? If it’s a dry joint you may induce the joint to fail as you prod around the area. Otherwise carry out a very close physical inspection of the PCB and interface connectors, preferably with a magnifier of some sort. It could equally be a damaged signal wire. I would definitely poke quite firmly around the PCB and interface wiring with an insulated prod of some sort - don’t be shy, apply quite a bit of force with the prod. |

Re: Sony BVM 2010P - Operational hours
I suspect the problem might be a connection to the RA board then, that lives between the drawer and the tube. The problem is getting to it. Even the manual is a bit vague on that one and wonder if it's a tube out job. So I think we're just going to live with it for now unless it gets worse.
