Default Identify the set. Bush Stereogram I think.

Sorry about the poor quality! Snapshot from 8mm film taken back in the mid sixties.

It was quite a big beast. Had a magic eye tuning indicator. I seem to remember only the right speaker ever worked.

Do remember listening to Dick Barton, Special Agent on it with my Mum while waiting for Dad to come home.

A Bush SRG71 or SRG81?
RM have a SRG71 and there is a service available from the top of this page for a SRG81, both look very similar.

I think it is a Bush SRG91. 2 lift up lids. One at each end.
Very expensive top of the range at the time.

SRG91 for reference, could very well be one.

I think Dick Barton finished in 1951 and was replaced by the Archers.
Stereo systems did not appear until about 1957/58 if my memory serves me correctly!

Some friends of mine had the mono version. It sounded superb and they had an external speaker which they could plug in around their large farm house. So they must have had the wiring for these points fitted when they did a major refit of the house in the early late 1950's or early 1960's.

This Radio gram was my first introduction to VHF/FM radio in the late 1960's. To my young ears it sounded very impressive especially through the radiograms large built in speaker.

Despite the remote location it pulled in all three available stations on just a short wire aerial. Looking back I assume it used an ECC85 for the VHF front end.

My parents bought one of these new, I really rated the sound quality, unfortunately it got given to relatives when replaced with a Dynatron solid state thing in the early 70's.

After many years I finally got one on ebay for 99p, a couple of miles up the road from me!
It does all work, but is on my roundtuit list.....

There could never have been a "Mono" version of this model?
