The original Radio Spares switch cleaner (the one in the can with the aluminium spout) was pretty lethal. Its solvent base was 111Trichloroethane. As such, it was no longer available after the 80s as "Trich" became a banned substance. Many a time I used it on assemblies only to find soon after that plastic parts had melted. I recall having this problem on Telequipment D1011 switch assemblies. Servisol, or De-Oxit (if you can afford it!) is a much better modern day option.
