Default K6 kiosk dimensions

Hi,

I'm trying to make an accurate model of a K6 GPO Telephone kiosk and wondered if anyone has any accurate drawings ?

Side and back drawing number 60905

and Dome 60907.

I found a drawing of the teak door on this site but which is very useful
but can't find the others.

Not sure how accurate you want to be, some years ago I made a full size repo RAC Box by measuring a OO gauge model version, and multiplying it up.
There are or were two fairly close to me, I could possible pop out with my Stanly rule, if of any assistance.

You could try the Post Office depot in Debden, east of London. It's an amazing place, but only open on certain days :

I remember there are a large collection of kiosks etc.
Or try the Postal Museum in Central London :

Have you looked at Youtube? there are several videos of how to make a reproduction telephone box.

I've found this attachment in my downloads that might be of some help. It's the drawing of the door with imperial dimensions.

Hi Guys,

Thanks so much for all your help.

I had previously looked at the Britishtelephones site and those drawings weren't on it,
so I emailed Bob ( the sites owner ) asking if he had them. it seems he then updated the site on the 28th February!

"its ur aerial" were any of the RAC boxes any of the ones in the attached photo?

I would also like any plans of the 1953 Mk5 Metropolitan Police Box. Now
that I know the height of the K6 ( 8 foot 4 inches ) I might be able to scale
the Mk5 model that I have.

The Debden depot also looks interesting. I did not know of this.

Is it not possible to take measurements from a actual phone box.
Round my area in several villages they still have original old phone boxes. Most of them now turned into mini library’s.
I assume it’s the same all over the country Andy

Found this which although maybe not strictly correct is based on a Metropolitan Police Box; https://janestreetclayworks.com/2014...ewbery-1-copy/ Hope it helps, there are also various dimensional drawings on Pintinterest that might be of interest in your quest.
