Default Everyday Electronics Labcentre

I am looking for an article from Everyday Electronics from the late `70s on the construction of a portable electronics lab in a briefcase. I remember wanting to build it as a teenager but could not afford it at the time. I think there was 3 parts. Could anyone post a scan of these articles.

Thanks

Dave

Would that be March 1979 I wonder.

Looks like it - here's the front cover, but not the magazine:

If no-one comes up with anything on here, it might be worth trying the EPE 'Chatzone' here:

(You have to register if not already a member, but it's no hassle).

Good luck in your quest Dave.

You may find it here some time soon, it is currently not there but there is enough of everything else to keep you occupied until it is there ;-)

I've looked at the EE's I have, but don't have that one. I remember the Labcentre though, I but thought it was circa 78. EE's are numerous on Ebay. That's how I've found vintage electronics magazines I was interested in by keeping a regular watch.

It might be a useful exercise to list all the facilities you might want yourself. These days there is so much to chose from that a 'universal' Labcentre might be difficult to achieve although there are always common items (such as power supplies) that will always need to be included.

Being ham radio orientated I would chose:

PSU
DFM
AF/RF signal generator(s)
Sweep generator
XTAL calibrators
Metering (various)
LCR meter

(probably others too!)

IIRC one of the DIY chains did a set of aluminium cases (nesting) that would be ideal for such a project. I still have a couple of sets (large black, medium blue and small red) that I might just turn into a complete set up covering most electronic areas that interest me - after all, it's not ALL ham radio!

Thanks for the replies, I have managed to find a copy of March 79. The labcentre was not as comprehensive as I remembered, but I still like the idea.
