Default Video recorders - Beta and VHS

Afternoon all,

Following my post regarding enthusiasm for collecting VCRs, I collected the pile, in the hope that some of you might be able to give them a home.

In total there are 48+machines to go, and I am clearing these on behalf of an executor of the estate.

All of this being said, the machines are offered with no warranty, are untested, with absolutely no comment or advice as to their past life, or suitability for further use.

All are for COLLECTION ONLY from Shillington, Bedfordshire.

PLEASE NOTE THEY ARE ALL OFFERED FIRST COME FIRST SERVED - AND FOR SPARES OR REPAIRS

So a list of what's available:

Panasonic NV333 - Qty 12 Available
JVC HR3330EK Qty 6 Available
Sony C6UB Qty 3 Available
Sony C7UB Qty 7 Available
Sony C5UB Qty 1 Available
Ferguson 3V22 Qty 4 Available
Grundig 2x4 Qty 2 Available
Ferguson 3V10A Qty 4 Available

There are approximately 10 other machines also available that I couldn't dig out of storage today.

Prices - any mix VHS 3 for 10
Betamax 10 each, but discounts available for quantity.

Deals to be made if someone fancies a bulk purchase.

There may also be some Umatic machines available, but the museum at HMS Collingwood has first refusal on these.

A warning from the Executor - All of these machines were used in the professional video industry, and some machines have tapes in them - be aware that the content of these may be unsuitable for some audiences - you have been warned, and I would strongly suggest anyone that purchases any of the machines should dispose of any media accordingly.

I am going to have to set a short timescale for these - any that have not been claimed and collected by the end of January will be sent for fragmentation.

Cheers
Sean

Wondering how on earth I get involved in some of this stuff!

Hi Sean,

I’d be interested in a few of these but distance is going to be an issue. I’ll contact a friend who may be interested in a road trip if he’s after any of the machines. What days are suitable for collection?

Thanks,

Kev

I can do almost any day over the festive period, otherwise I think we will be stuck with weekends - happy to fit in where I can

Ok, same for me really! I’ll see if my friend is interested and will private message you if so. It will be a full day driving for me so don’t want to do it alone. If we decide to do this then i’ll happily transport any machines for othr forum members up to Liverpool but I won’t be making any stops on the way back.

Thanks,

Kev

The problem with postage is I have no packing materials, and very little time to arrange anything to cover this sort of scale.

If the FCS could help out then I would be happy to help with this where I can.

Remember - the VHS machines are 3 for a tenner, so that's the minimum supply quantity

I may have to travel to Weston Super Mare at some point during the festivities (to collect the Viewmaster TV that was mentioned on here)

I might be able to sneak a few machines in if that helps Snarf and Electronicskip

Unfortunately my friend doesn’t fancy 8 hours driving for a VCR, can’t imagine why....!
If anyone can help getting 3 of the Sony C7 machines somewhere within say an hour’s drive of Liverpool that would be great.

Thanks,

Kev

Thanks Sean subject to timing etc. I am more than happy if anyone wants anything collecting and then picking up from me in mid Cornwall. I can't drop anything off on our way back though. Also we will almost certainly be at the NVCF in Warwickshire next May so can hold till then.
