Default Old (1930s?) wooden radio, Clapham Junction

Today I noticed an old (I would guess from the 1930s, but this is not my subject) wooden case radio in the British Heart Foundation charity shop in Clapham Junction

It is priced at around £50

It looks to be in need of serious restoration (cabinet scratched, grille cloth falling apart, etc). I didn't get it down to look at the insides, so no idea how complete it is, or internal condition. I didn't see any obvous maker's name or logos/badges on it.

As I said, not my subject but somebody here might be interested in going along to find out more.
