Default Megger Insulation Tester

Another item of test gear to go is this Megger Insulation Tester.

Though the yellow case is branded 'Megger' the leather case in which it is housed carries an RS Code No ‘6420-033', a search for which brings nothing up, so I guess it’s some years old. That said, it’s in nice condition and seems to be in good working order. The leather case is 4 inches square x 5 inches tall, which also houses the test leads and clips, which are included. (The meter doesn't need to be removed from the case to use it).

It has two ranges: 0 – 100 Ohms and 0 – 200 Megohms at 500 Volts, selectable by a slide-switch on the side. Ably assisted by my wife cranking the handle, I've taken a picture of my multi-meter display, which shows that the Megger generates a little over 500 Volts (Leastways, with my wife on the handle it does!), as shown in the last pic below. I’ve also tried several resistors ranging from 10 Ohms to 10 Megohms to confirm that the resistance dial readings are accurate.

There are no instructions, but it's so simple that really, none are needed.

Hopefully, at 15.00 plus 4.00 P&P via My Hermes (over 1kG) it will find a buyer.

(No hat).

Thanks for reading.
