US part 15 radio (mini transmitters)
I came across this interesting US site while looking at the AMT3000 mini-transmitter. It is named after the FCC regulations which allows unlicensed units to be used so long as they are 100mW or under.
It seems that such units as the AMT3000 are actually used for local community radio. http://www.part15.us/index.php This is a picture of the type of antenna allowed under part 15. http://antenna18431.tripod.com/antenna.htm |

Re: US part 15 radio (mini transmitters)
Reading the USA forum which is similar to this one, but not as good I must add, it seems that a lot of the users want to increase the power of these things and stick big aerials on them or their high power equivalents and start DXing them.
I enjoy the madness of these Yanks. Jim |
