International Lighthouse Weekend - Amateur Radio
Just a mention of this years International Lighthouse Weekend (21st and 22nd of August), many stations worldwide will incorporate amateur radio transmissions, see link here:
http://illw.net/index.php?option=com...d=48&Itemid=55 I hope to be on duty at Hurst Point Lighthouse (acetylene room) on the Solent on Sunday. There is no mains supply at Hurst Point Light, there are two 24VDC diesel generators for battery charging. These are operated remotely from Harwich. The batteries power the light via an inverter which is within the tower. Neil http://www.alk.org.uk/

Re: International Lighthouse Weekend - Amateur Radio
The Limerick Radio Club, EI4LRC, will be activating the Tarbert lighthouse at the weekend, the only EI station declared (so far) this year.
The ILLW website is currently showing a change to Kilcredaun lighthouse, which is erroneous information. Hope to hear some of you over the weekend! |

Worked a handful yesterday, the furthest being VO1VON (Cape Spear, Newfoundland). Very good fun!

Brilliant Robs, good that you were able to establish some contacts, it should be even bigger next year.
