Default Fools at Harpenden....

A few quick pictures of todays demonstration of the "Fool on the Hill" television project.

The demonstration went well, apart from the slow failure of my Sony 9-90UB, which gradually reduced its frame height through the day (about 1 inch shorter at the end), and my Telequipment scope, which ran out of brilliance around 1pm

I demonstrated the system using my version of Kat's Mk2 combiner. I took along my new version, but it still has bugs, so I didn't use it, nor did I have sufficient equipment to try 240 line

Jeffrey (Pppenguin) also demonstrated the new Aurora, using both a Sony 9-90 and a Prowest monitor, as well as a Tektronix RM529 video monitor. Many thanks for allowing me to connect up and show the true potential of the Foth project (and for pointing out all the problems with my video signal).

Thanks to all who showed support and interest in the demonstration.

Jim.

Yes, a most impressive demonstration Jim.

Makes me even more tempted to have a ago myself,
Perhaps one day when I have more space available

Thanks

Pete

Hi Jim, I am happy to see people making their own converter.
Would like to see your combinner schematic.

Kind regards
Darius

Darius,

thanks for your encouragement!

The combiner I demonstrated was a copy of Kat's (but mine, it seems, is not quite as good), so I feel it is up to Kat to publish the circuit. My new, slightly improved, combiner still has a few bugs, but should be ready for publication towards the end of next week (I have to repair my 9-90 before I can do much more development). If Kat has her website up by then, that would be the ideal place for it, otherwise I will post a copy on the forum.

Jim.

Thanks, I am looking forward to see it.
I've learned a lot discussing my schematics in the forum.
But I must say in "the good old Domino days" the interest was much bigger.

Kind regards
Darius
