Today, the line output stage screening box was polished up and refitted on the chassis. A replacement EY51 soldered in. With the chassis on the bench the DC end of the EHT rectifier produces a 5mm spark. It won't be long before we see how good or bad the pictures on the Grandelek CRT are.
After replacing the contrast control the vision circuits are working.

Todays results, a horizontal line, albeit a very bright one.
Still more work to be done before we see pictures on the Grandelek CRT.

This set displays a much better picture than my own Pye FV1 which has been in my possession for sixty-three years. The original MW31-16 CRT is getting a bit tired.
