Default Cosmos radiophone coils

Some time ago I restored this 1924 Cosmos radio, all works fine on the M/W coil pack ,but I want a L/W coil pack , I guess there is no chance of me obtaining one , so I need to make one , I was loaned a silicone mould so I could cast a new former it's the first time I have tried this kind of thing , it turned out not to bad .
The thing is how do I go about constructing the L/W coil pack ,there are four coils in the M/W one one is attached to like a swinging arm assy and crosses another fixed coil reaction maybe .
Not sure how good my inductance meter is , I could measure the coils and the value of the tuning capacitor . Any thoughts welcome please. Mick.

Default Re: Cosmos radiophone coils

Quick update! On my cheap test meter the three fixed coils read 0.3mH 0.7 ohm and the moving coil 0.46mH 0.1ohm all the wire is single cotton covered.

Now I need to measure the min /max capacitance of the tuning cap.

Should be an interesting project!

Mick.
