Default Mystery styli !

My friend Richard runs the music shop in the Village. Many years ago he bought a large number of replacement styli from a closing music shop. Now he is thinking of digging them out and selling them. However quite a few have lost their labels. I know it's a bit of a forlorn hope as so many of these things look the same but here are the first 3. If anyone knows....it will be someone here ! The one on the left has some info but no maker - the other 2 had nothing at all (legible) on the boxes.

Here's a page from the 1994 Maplin catalogue containing perspective line drawings of various stylii that may be of assistance.

Blue Hitachi DS-ST55, DSST55, HTL33, (I first thought it might be an aftermarket marantz CT100)
White one is Hitachi ST101

Many thanks Ben - I had tracked down the Hitachi but not the others. More to come I am afraid - I hope you will be looking.

Here are a few more to puzzle over. The black one has Audio Technica on the front but I couldn't find the type.

Blimey Ben! Your knowledge of these things is positively encyclopaedic! I have been amazed at the variety of styli and carts there have been over the years as Richard has been digging them out of his shed. Do you have any idea how many different ones there were? And many thanks again - just a few more to go.

Keep 'em coming! I have to say it's more a case of having had excellent colour catalogues for many years, anything I don't know off hand can usually be found in minutes.

Another 5 anonymous styli. This is last of the current batch, but Richard assures me there are more!

Ben - any thoughts on the Audio Technica stylus in the last batch? It looks to me like the sort of thing that would fit on the little Chuo Denshi ceramics - did AT make anything like that?

Black one looks like PHILIPS GP397/3 aka TOSHIBA N280, N290

Here's a page from the 1987 Maplin catalogue that includes some styli not shown in the later catalogue. The drawings are to a larger scale than the ones in the later one.

Thanks again Ben and Emeritus. I shall no doubt be back with more as Richard mines the rest of his stash. Nothing really exciting so far....but there is a long way to go.
