Re: todays Harpenden meeting feedback
Well, I bought the Luxor radio, a huge Grundig TK830 & a rusty Grampian factory music system.
At least Juliet likes the Luxor 'cos it's got Scandinavian Modern design. She does have an eye for design..... Mark. |

Re: todays Harpenden meeting feedback
Had a great time poking around in all that junk! Did manage to get a nice little counter/timer for a few quid and some other bits and bobs. I've only been to the Tonbridge event before; I'll certainly be going to this one again. Thanks and well done to all the organisers. Those tellies are starting to look more and more interesting

Re: todays Harpenden meeting feedback
Wish these meets were up norf! sounds like you all had a great time, would love to rummage, nothing up here in the back of beyond, except cows, sheep & hills. There was excitement though recently when an auction of a few radios was found at Barnard Castle.

Hi OTT and other Northerners. There is always the Lowton meeting mid Nov and there is the Spennymoor meeting (ham radio but plenty of good bits) a week later.

Re: todays Harpenden meeting feedback
Hi Ed I only found out about the Spenny one this week which I will definately go to. Only found out about that via the BARC which is held up in Stanley Crook which about a couple of miles from me. I was not sure about spenny at first as I expected it to be just for ham radio but optomistic that I might get some components or other goodies.

Re: todays Harpenden meeting feedback
Well, I packed up the stall at 1.30, but not before picking up a Marconi T11DA for £3 on a nearby stall. As I was making my way to the Inn on the Green, Chris from Rugby kindly passed on a Nordmende colour pattern generator to me. I was greatful that Danny took the Marconi console TV off my hands, I dont think that I could have got it back up the stairs to the flat! All in all, a good day out.

Re: todays Harpenden meeting feedback
murphyv310 has also organised a couple of informal meet-ups at his home which have been very successful. Hopefully these will continue and grow.
