Default Murphy Radiogram. Value?

Hi,

I have a Vintage Murphy A194sr radio record player in good working order. I am looking to find out how much it might be worth. Any suggestions and/or help in finding out would be a great help.

Thanks in advance

Regards,
Chris

This is a very nice example. You say it is in good working order, but the headshell is missing and in this state, it cannot play records. Also one of the control knobs is missing. These will have a detrimental affect on value.

I think your radiogram may be an A494SR not an A194SR.

I could be completely wrong as I can't find any information on an A194SR.

The A494SR was sold in 3 versions, MK1, MK2 and MK3. A close up picture of the record player turntable may help us to idendify your model's version if indeed it turns out to be an A494SR.

Looks like the headshell is hiding on the bottom shelf, there appears to be a cartridge installed.

I can't be sure, but the headshell appears to be fitted with the mono Garrard GC8 cartridge. There should be another headshell with the stereo GCS10, or possibly the Acos GP71 cartridge.
