Default Jewel radio of Basildon no longwave a little help please

Ok so for better or worse I bought five yes five Jewel radio chassis to get going and make cases for the first one I've got to the stage of being perfect on MW perfect on SW but absolutely nothing at all on LW I've tried pretty much everything I can think of with the signal generator on the aerial I get a weak tone from the speaker I've aligned the set three times no improvement. Any thoughts greatly appreciated diagram attached oh at the very end of the tuner / variable condenser I have a small band that's exceptionally loud oscillation .

Are all of the LW related coils intact and connected in the right phasing? Any padding/trimming capacitors OK? Wavechange switch contacts OK?

All coils appear to be intact continuity on all of them the wavechange switch I stripped and physically cleaned it has an osc trimmer a padder and a LW aerial trimmer I've adjusted all three to maximum wallop with the signal generator and it still does diddly squat as far as I can tell from the back of a napkin diagram I've found online it's all connected correctly.

As these are a bit of an unknown, I would start by checking the oscillator is running and confirming it is at the correct frequency.

Does anyone have one that works on LW?

Obviously there no service data for these so I've aligned it by pretending it's a Ferranti after more twidling and a dab of solder on a somewhat dry wire I've got weak RTE coming through still lacking radio 4 but progress is being made.

hello all, my jewel chassis does get LW only two stations not much volume
it seems to need a long wire to pick up any stations ? short wave seems to
work best
