Farnell FG1
Hi peeps.. Isn't it always the same ?. You have a nice piece of kit on the shelf for ages..... working, the last time it was out. New project, calls for the FG1 to be used.
FG1 has other ideas. Full output on the ref output. No output via the controlled output. Fortunately its quite easy to work on. I made an extension assy to allow the modules to be worked on whilst plugged in. There was no input to the output amplifier. Output ok from the sine converter. even sine on the wiper of the level control. The designers of the FG1, made it in modular form, thus each module is plugable, plus the front panel is connected via 2 X 20 pin connectors. In between the last use and this...the pin connecting the front panel control to the main pcb had gone o/c ...... Fortunately it was just a clean. But it just shows,,, none gold coated pins can be a problem.. ok after 50 years, but, annoying to say the least. Hey ho... back to the project
