Printing onto clear sticker paper - UK Vintage Radio Repair and Restoration Discussion Forum

I'm looking for advice (suppliers, tips etc) on using a normal desktop printer (Canon MG3250) to print onto clear sticker paper? I'm needing to print station names onto strips of sheet perspex, and intend to use the clear sticker paper to back-stick onto the perspex. Obviously the lettering will need to be reversed. It's just black lettering, no colours.

Look at ‘mrdecalpaper.com’ lots of clear paper and waterslide types. just a happy customer.

Try Express PCB in PCB mode. There's an option to print onto Acetate sheet in both surface and inverted mode and silkscreen mode.
In default the track colours are red-top of PCB, green bottom layer and yellow =components and silkscreen mode. But if you select green, then all text chosen will be printed in mirror mode, with the text visible on the other side in normal print.
Acetate sheet for inkjets is available from Hobby craft shops
. Then after printing, all you have to do is figure out how to fix to perspex sheet.
just an idea, but it might work.

Much better if you use a Laser printer as the toner is denser and more colourful than inkjet which is more transparent.

I've ordered some clear sticker paper that's seems fairly straightforward. I'll report back in due course.

I've had no problems with an Inkjet making photo masks for PCB using inkjet and acetate sheet. Problem with Express is that the track layout is limited to black. If you wish to change colours on printout, you'd have to use a program to change the ink colours, I've used this method to make labels for my lightbox ,on the reverse of the sheet and had no problems with an Inkjet.

Will be most interested in your experiences when you have the time & inclination to share them, I have something similar to undertake at some point when I have to recreate the cover for a Murphy A48 tuning drum which bears the station names...

Thanks to all for their help and suggestions. I now have a good, useable scan to use for printing. I will now revert to my earlier thread about the dials themselves (not just the printing problem) and provide further information as things progress.
